On the site we found ruins of a house waiting to be recovered. We preserved the limit walls and we designed an exterior space, allowing the new house to emerge from the old. The main floor houses the kitchen, the living room and a small studio, while the first floor is a more private area with two bedrooms. Save this picture!© Fernando Guerra | FG+SGProject gallerySee allShow lessNew Taipei City Museum of Art Competition Proposal / INFLUX_STUDIOArticlesPower in Space ConferenceArticles Share Projectscenter_img Architects: Orgânica Arquitectura Area Area of this architecture project Save this picture!© Fernando Guerra | FG+SG+ 14 Share Area:  142 m² Photographs Houses ArchDaily “COPY” CopyAbout this officeOrgânica ArquitecturaOfficeFollowProductsSteelStoneConcrete#TagsProjectsBuilt ProjectsSelected ProjectsResidential ArchitectureHousesSintraHousesPortugalPublished on August 24, 2011Cite: “Cabrela House / Orgânica Arquitectura” 24 Aug 2011. Local nursing homes are keeping their residents connected to their loved ones

first_imgPhoto shoots are happening over at United Methodist Homes too. Through social media, residents are sending their messages to loved ones. “Some of the things we have been doing, of course one of the residents’ favorites, hallway bingo, clown visits, positive thinking on the go, strolling guitar music by our executive director, even our wellness center has taken exercise to a new level doing hallway chicken dances and hokey pokey,” said campus life director at United Methodist Homes Hilltop Campus, Faye Clark. But the amusement doesn’t end there. Good Shepherd Fairview Home has given its residents access to iPads. “They take resident around the home to show them renovations, they bring the dog out for the dog to do tricks, family members play the piano so the resident can have a sing-a-long,” said Sciamanna. This can make for an especially isolating time for seniors. Good Shepherd staff have even held photo shoots with residents, while they held signs reading, “We hear it’s a jungle out there!” Despite the situation, many facilities are putting in the extra effort to keep their residents connected and make them feel at home. “The residents are so intrigued by the technology, something new and completely different for them,” said Sciamanna. “We know it’s important to take care of their physical needs, but we also recognize that it’s just as important that we take care of their emotional and psychosocial needs,” said Sciamanna.center_img And as we all take this day by day, remember, time flies when you’re having fun. “Everybody is reaching in, and digging deep, and trying to find something new and different and exciting and innovative and helpful,” said Sciamanna. “One of the things in photography is that people respond to having something that they can look out and it evokes such strong memories. So we wanted to be able to connect to the family in that way too,” said Sciamanna. It allows them to Facetime their families, who are also embracing it. So while it’s important to stay safe, it’s also important to stay connected. (WBNG) — With the coronavirus continuing to spread, nursing homes in our area are unable to accept visitors. “The only people they’re seeing on a daily basis is staff. So we are their family right now,” said director of therapeutic recreation at Good Shepherd Fairview Home, Lori Sciamanna. For more on the coronavirus, click here.last_img read more

POPBAND Hair Ties Pack of 5 London : Don’t be stupid, people.

first_imgThem to the regular bands and my hair feels like it is not breaking so much. I will definitely be buying these from now on i prefer them to the regular bands and my hair feels like it is not breaking so much. These are really nice to wear and don’t snag your hair. Just a little over priced i think. These are bog-standard elastic edging aka fold-over elastic, tied together in loops. They cost pennies to make, and are sold by popband at an eye-watering profit. You can pick the exact colour combination you want. You pay for the convenience of not buying elastic band by the metre and having to cut it up and tie it yourself, essentially. The bad: i won’t buy these again simply because it is such a rip-off. I thought that maybe there was something special about them, but there really isn’t. After some wear they get quite grubby and you have to wash them. They also wear out quite quickly. Not exactly what i expected. I do like the fabric and colour of these hair-bands but i was extremely surprised to find that each one is a quite literally a length of stretchy ribbon that has a knot tied in it to hold it together. In all honesty i think this makes them very overpriced as i could have bought lengths of stretchy ribbon from a haberdasher and cut them to size myself for significantly less. So although i won’t be returning them i will also not buy these again either. Don’t be stupid, people.Great style and kinder to hairNot exactly what I expected them to the regular bands and my hair feels like it is not breaking so muchPOPBAND Hair Ties Pack of 5 LondonThe ‘original’ Popbands that are kind on hair cute on wrists! Love the colours and concept of these and they are definitely an improvement on the usual hair bobbles. My hair still gets a bit of a kink in it but my hair is very fine and fluffy/porus so is a total pain to try keep kink free. These do a good job and look better on my wrist too. I’ll be looking to try some other colours in the range soon.last_img read more

Dillinger sparks, completes Bolts’ Game 1 comeback

first_imgFire hits houses in Mandaluyong City “I’m just trying to do my part on the team. All the guys have the confidence to let me shoot, so I just try to stay in my lane. If the ball comes, I’ll shoot it if it’s open, but if it’s not, I’ll pass it up,” the veteran forward said.“It’s just a good grind out win. Both teams weren’t shooting well and we’re just lucky to hit the big shots and that’s just how it works in the playoffs.”FEATURED STORIESSPORTSWATCH: Drones light up sky in final leg of SEA Games torch runSPORTSSEA Games: Philippines picks up 1st win in men’s water poloSPORTSMalditas save PH from shutoutThe 33-year-old Dillinger pumped in eight of his team’s last 15 points down the stretch but what he was more proud about was the Bolts living up to their reputation as one of the best defensive teams in the league.“Coach had a good game plan defensively and as long as we talk out there, we’re gonna be okay,” he said. “We’re the number one defensive team in the league and we’re a good defensive team for a reason, so as long as we listen to coach, we talk out there and communicate, we’ll be okay.” PBA IMAGESBIÑAN — Meralco’s big comeback win over Star in Game 1 of the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals started and fittingly, ended with Jared Dillinger.Dillinger sparked the Bolts’ rally from a 17-point lead in the first half before completing his team’s comeback from 12 points down late.ADVERTISEMENT Nonong Araneta re-elected as PFF president View comments But Dillinger hopes Meralco breaks its bad habit of falling behind games. In three of its last four games, Meralco needed to overhaul big leads to win dating back to its final game in the the elimination round against San Miguel Beer.“I really don’t know what’s going on. We need to stop doing that. I’m getting no sleep. It’s just so hard to go behind and just win. It’s mentally and physically draining,” he said. “Coach says it all the time, a win is a win and we’ll take it, but I’m tired coming back from behind. Can we just get a normal one?”Game 2 is on Tuesday at Sta. Rosa, Laguna with the Bolts looking to grab a commanding lead in the best-of-5 duel.“This is just one game in the semis. We got long ways to go.”ADVERTISEMENT Don’t miss out on the latest news and information. first_imgAbout the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say Sheffield Utd manager Wilder leaps to defence of McGoldrickby Paul Vegasa month agoSend to a friendShare the loveSheffield United manager Chris Wilder has leapt to the defence of David McGoldrick. The 31-year-old was criticised for his wastefulness in front of goal during last weekend’s loss to Southampton. He missed Saturday’s win over Sheffield United with a groin strain, and Wilder stuck up for the 31-year-old when speaking after the game.He said: “So what does he do? He has a finishing session on his own and then goes back out to have another finishing session, because he’s trying to improve his skills and get that aspect of his game out of his system. It was then, he tweaked his groin. “But that tells you what kind of boy he is. An international player. Any sort of negativity or criticism towards him is ridiculous, because he gives everything for this football club and is brilliant for us.”I think we’ve got to be careful as a football club, because of the results and the way we’ve played, that we don’t put too much pressure on our players.”A couple of things got flagged up to me (after losing to Southampton). This team, where they’ve come from, they don’t deserve 70 per cent report. They deserve 100 per cent support.” last_img read more

first_imgCrouch: Spurs just suffering blipby Paul Vegasa month agoSend to a friendShare the loveFormer Tottenham striker Peter Crouch insists their poor start to the season is just a “blip”.He wrote for the Daily Mail: “(Mauricio) Pochettino is the best thing that has happened to Tottenham in 20 years. I say that as someone who was at the club in the late 1990s and, again, 10 years later when Harry Redknapp took charge: I’ve seen good and bad times first hand and I know what I’m seeing now.”This is a blip, nothing more. I was at Leicester seven days ago and I didn’t see too much wrong with their performance. “They should, really, have won that game and I will argue with anyone who thinks VAR was brought in to decide offside calls like the one which went against Son Heung-min.” read more
