Dozens of locals show good will to help family in need

first_imgHomepage BannerNews The people of Letterkenny and surrounding areas  have shown their good will after dozens of people offered to help a family in need via social media.A post was put up on the Letterkenny Buy and Sell Facebook page asking if anyone would have a bed and mattress to spare for a local family.The post describes how two of the children in the family are sharing a single bed, while an 8-year-child has to currently sleep on the floor.It adds how the child has asked Santa for a bed for Christmas.The response to the post has been phenomenal, with hundreds replying.Dozens offered beds, mattresses, bedside cupboards and wardrobes and toys.While one person even offered to deliver the bed or other items to the family in his van.Meanwhile a spokesperson for the Donegal Childcare Committee says more and more families are struggling at this time of year.
