Once again, the Indiana Fever made it to the final game of the WNBA basketball playoffs. This year’s finals was a replay of the 2012 series again with the Minnesota Lynx. Unlike 2012, the Fever lost 3-2 to the Lynx. This year Indiana was coached by Stephanie White, a former Purdue and Fever player. It was a great series that was not decided until the 4th quarter of the final game. The series’ most defining moment came with less than a second on the play clock of game 3. Maya Moore hit a 3-pointer for the Lynx. Had the Fever been able to win this game, they would have most likely gone on to win the series since that would have been their 2nd win and they won the next game in the best of 5 series.Every year it seems the Fever get off to a slow start but by the time the playoffs come around they are playing very good basketball. The last time the Fever won they were coached by Lynn Dunn also a Purdue coach for whom Cindy Lamping of Batesville was a key player.
